Collection: Transition Contact Lenses
Photochromic (Light‑Adaptive) Contact Lenses – How They Work
Photochromic contact lenses contain special molecules that react to ultraviolet and blue‑violet light. When exposed to sunlight, these molecules activate, causing the lens to darken and reduce glare. Indoors or in low light, they revert to a clear state. This adaptive technology offers extra comfort for outdoor activities and helps filter some harmful light without impacting indoor vision.
Toric & Daily Transition Contact Lenses
There is no toric or astigmatism version of transition contact lenses, and no daily photochromic lenses currently exist. The original ACUVUE OASYS with Transitions was available only in spherical powers as a 2‑week lens. If you need astigmatism or presbyopia correction, choose toric or multifocal lenses and pair them with quality sunglasses for outdoor glare.
Pricing & Availability
Because ACUVUE OASYS with Transitions is discontinued, pricing is highly variable and stock is scarce. Some retailers may still list remaining boxes, but availability isn’t guaranteed. For consistent value, compare the cost of OASYS MAX 1‑Day versus OASYS 2‑Week lenses, which offer similar benefits without the transition feature.
