Frequently Asked Questions

What is MiSight 1 Day?

MiSight 1 Day is a soft daily contact lens made especially for kids who are nearsighted. It works like a regular contact lens to give clear vision, but its design also helps slow down how fast their prescription gets stronger over time.

How does MiSight actually help with myopia?

MiSight has a clever “dual‑focus” design. Part of the lens gives your child clear vision, and other parts gently change how light focuses in the eye to signal it not to keep growing so quickly. Over time, this can help slow the progression of myopia when used under the guidance of an eye‑care professional.

Which kids is MiSight 1 Day for?

MiSight is for children with myopia who have been checked and fitted by an eye doctor. Most kids who wear it are school‑age and already need glasses to see clearly far away. If your child’s glasses keep getting stronger every year, MiSight may be one of the options your doctor suggests.

What’s a good age to start?

There’s no magic age, but many kids start around 8–12. The real question is: can your child follow instructions, wash and dry their hands properly, and handle lenses responsibly? Your eye‑care professional will help you decide if your child is ready.

Will my child still need glasses?

Yes, they’ll usually still have a pair of glasses. MiSight is worn during the day and removed at night, so glasses are handy first thing in the morning, late at night, or on days when they’re not wearing lenses.

How long does a 90‑pack last?

Each 90‑pack covers one eye. If your child wears MiSight every day, a 90‑pack for each eye usually lasts about three months. If they only wear lenses on school days or part‑time, it can last longer.

How often will my child need check‑ups?

Kids in myopia‑control programs are usually seen more regularly than adults. Many eye‑care professionals like to review things every 6–12 months, or more often at the start. These visits make sure the eyes are healthy, the lenses fit well, and the prescription is up to date.

Is MiSight safe for children?

When it’s prescribed and monitored by an eye‑care professional, and used with good hygiene, MiSight is considered a safe option for many kids. Parents should help with lens routines at the beginning and keep an eye out for any redness, pain, or sudden changes in vision. If something doesn’t look right, take the lenses out and call your eye doctor.

How do we look after MiSight lenses?

It’s simple: one pair per day, then throw them away. There’s no cleaning and no storage case – your child puts in a fresh pair in the morning and removes and discards them before bed. This makes daily hygiene much easier for kids and parents.

Can my child sleep in MiSight?

No. MiSight 1 Day is not designed for overnight wear. Your child should always remove and throw away the lenses before going to sleep.

What prescription do I need to order?

You’ll need a valid contact‑lens prescription specifically for MiSight 1 Day. It should show the lens name, power for each eye, an expiry date, and your eye‑care professional’s details. A glasses prescription alone isn’t enough because it doesn’t include contact‑lens‑specific information.

How do I share my child’s prescription when ordering?

During checkout you can either upload a photo of the prescription, type in the details, or choose for us to confirm it with your eye‑care provider (depending on your local rules). Just follow the steps on the page, and if you’re unsure, our support team can walk you through it.
